this is on BB forum also but got no replies.

    Router package & splitter

    just got a Netgear DG348G modem/wireless router
in prep for me getting BT BB over the next week or two.
I have a normal phone line now - no bb etc.-just eircom phone line.

I got a filter/splitter incl with the router where the phone line goes
in one side and phone & modem separated out the other - ok

Out of curiosity, I tried this splitter today with & without the modem
connected and could not get a standard phone dial tone.

Is there something amiss or does my line have to be activated to adsl
    for this splitter to work?
Should I still be able to get a phone dial tone thru this device.

    thx for any replies

All the splitter does is split the phone from the dsl signal. Your line will need to be dsl enabled for the dsl signal to get through. It shouldn't have an effect on the phone signal.

    what else can i try.

    thx
