I just started playing last week and i'd read about the $20, $50, $101 promotions.
So thinking i might not do very well i signed up for the $20, i figured i might have a chance at that.

    Well tonight i got it.
Didn't think i'd do it in so short a time.

I'm just wondering if there are any other promotions that might still be valid?

word of advice.... always take the biggest bonus. On PPP you can only get 2 a year i think? May aswell get the most out of them

Wish i'd asked about these before i signed up. :(

Just found out you can't enter another promotion while one you've already taken part in is still active, even if you've finished it.

If i'd know about the Big Brother one i could have entered that one then done another in november.

Ah well, you live and learn.

What is the code for the $101?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,819 ✭✭✭K!LL!@N

You can find all the codes here.

If you haven't done the Big Brother one, i'd recommend doing that.
    It's $35 for 1000 points.
I got 1000 points in a week playing 2c/4c and some 5c/10c and few STT's.
That's why i'm gutted about having to wait 6 months before i can enter another promo.

Are they all as easy to get your money out of?

No, most are a percentage of what you first lodge, so unless your lodging a lot and playing big games theres not much point

anybody know any good promo codes?

I got one starting up, but havent been able to use one since. I remember hearing of 'dnutz' and tried it a few times but it always said I had to wait until my current promo was over??

Anyway tried to use 'dnutz' today and it said the code was expired.... so maybe I can use codes again?? Does anybody have any good ones for PPP?

Everytime I have lodged money with bodog they have goven me an extra 20%. I don't know when its gonna stop but it is a fantastic deal. Keep this to yourselves but their weekly 100k guaranteed is one of the best kept secrets on the net. One week I played and the prizepool was only 58k so there was 42k in free money up for grabs! Does anyone else know where you would get better value than that?

yeh I just did 'pokergod'. It worked!!

On another point I just got aces on PPP, 5 people start raising and reraisin until 1 guy raises $20 (on 5c/10c). I reraise all in $35 he calls with AJ ????

    and the aces held up!!!

    Idiot.....

EDIT : Just lost it all when I flopped 3 4 5(rainbow) holding A 2. He goes all in I call. He turns over 6 7...

    cheers Paddy Power.

I can't understand how someone who is convinced the site is rigged, continues to play on it.

Some people like to stick knives into their arms to self harm, you are the poker equivilient. I suggest a physicatrist.

ok back on topic K!LL!@N just out of curiosity how long did it take u to make it to the 1000 points like roughly how many hands in or around and if u don't mind how much money did u put in before u started? Did u win money on the tables?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,819 ✭✭✭K!LL!@N

Well i started playing for real money last saturday when i lodged €10 to PPP.
I got to 1000 almost exactly a week later on saturday evening.

I actually forgot to sign up for the promo right away and missed out on 400 points. I had a very good day the first day i played.

I played mostly the 2c/4c tables, only started to play 5c/10c tables friday evening.

    Played a few $1 STT's as well.

As of last night i've got $65 in my account including my original $11.90 and the $20 i got from the promo.

If i hadn't gotten a bit loose mid week i reckon i'd have $15-$20 more.

At one point i was back down to $15.

Yeh I know, but until I get a credit card I'm stuck with PPP and Betfair as my only sources of poker outside casino's. Anyway, look at the levels I'm playing at! Im not on it to make any major money. It's more out of boredom.

And by the way I don't think poker is RIGGED :)

I just don't think it follows the same sort of 'rules' as real poker. (I use the word rules lightly) I hate the way almost every 50/50 is decided on the river. I hate the way most of the time, the slightly worse hand will win a heads up. I hate the way you can flop the nuts and will probably still lose. Most of all I hate the endless amount of MIRACLE cards that are hit on the river. The same odds don't seem to apply for PPP as they do everywhere else.

I'm not just complaining about losing on it. The amount of times I've hit 1 outers, or beaten monsters on the river. I just cant take it seriously. I actually prefer getting kings rather than aces online now! That aint right!!!

I hate the way people try and make excuses for the type of hands you see by saying 'you play way more hands online so OBVIOUSLY you will see better ones over time'... BULLSH1T!!!! Ive only ever seen one straight flush in a live game and only a handful of pokers. On PPP i think its a daily sight.

I don't think PPP is rigged. I just dont think its 'poker

Rory I am amazed that somoeone who plays as much live poker as you really thinks like this. I have seen some really bizarre situations arise in live poker. You should watch any of the WPT series and you will see no shortage of miracle river cards. Also it is a fact that internet poker gets through far more hands per hour then live poker. I do not think people say you will see better hands on line, as a hand can only be so good but if you are playing more hands per hour, it stands to reason that you are going to be dealt good hands, and more bad hands per hour. I do not understand what you are saying is bull**** here. I think maybe you just cant explain why youy live game is more successful then your online game, and that is why you keep knocking online poker.

By the way, every site I have played on has people saying the same thing about it as you say about PPP. It is just a ready made excuse.

By the way, every site I have played on has people saying the same thing about it as you say about PPP. It is just a ready made excuse.

First of all the reason that you see 'no shortage of miracle cards' on TV is because the edit out all the boring hands which is A LOT.

Secondly, what I'm saying is bullsh1t; is that the type of hands I see on PPP are CONSISTENTLY a lot 'better' than hands I see live. eg. I see a lot more aces, kings etc given out, and almost 1 in every 3/4 hands will be flush/full house, straight etc. I dont see there being a consistent ratio that you can measure between both online and live. If I get a good hand(aces, kings, queens say once evry 50 hands in a live game - just an estimate!) I get them far more often in online. Say, if you measured 100 hands of online and 100 hands of live, you can be pretty sure the online would overall, have seen better hands. Basically I hate hearing people say the only reason you see ridiculous hands online is because you see more hands. That is 'BULLSH1T'

Finally, yes, I don't think i am as successful at online as I am live, because I have no real interest in making money online. I play out of boredom. Still, I have only ever deposited $10 into my account, I have a few hundred in it now and withdraw on a regular basis, so yes I am still 'successful' on it

Also, maybe your right about the other sites, so far I've only played on PPP and Betfair. The reason I haven't said anything about Betfair yet is because I've only been playing a few weeks. So far I've been making a steady profit, and it seems to be a LOT better than PPP. It seems to be basically the same as live poker insofar as odds and quallity ofstarting hands are concerned. Still though I'm not saying much yet, as thats how PPP started out........

Thanks for explaining that to me Rory, I never understood about editing before :) . But really that arguement is void because all they are showing is the final table of one tournament, so it does not matter how much they edit, they are showing less hands then are played in a tournie in the fitz for example.

Also, now you are saying that PPP started out the same as live poker, then gradually swung away? Well it is obviously a conspiracy! Don't get me wrong I am not trying to have a go at you, I just think there are some flaws and inconsistencies in your arguement, and, like some other posters here, I am a bit sick and tired of bad beat threads and whinging about online poker..

I have only played the Fitz freeroll a couple of times, but that is every bit as bad as online poker for bad beats and outdraws from my experience.

Fair enough, we'll agree to disagree.

Just don't badmouth the freeroll. Personally I think it is one of the best tournaments that Ireland has to offer at the moment. The skill needed to compete in such a tournament is comparable to that of the WSOP.

Perhaps the variance between live and online is down to the shuffling?
I would imagine that shuffling done live by a dealer wouldn't be as random as a randomly generated shuffle online.

Also, i'd imagine there are a lot of people who will call more often than they might or should, live.

With these extra calls you're seeing results that you wouldn't normally see.
I'm just speculating, i've never played live.

I can't say i've been playing long enough to have noticed anything out of the ordinary.

I've lost to unlikely hands and i've won with some unlikely hands.
    I think it evens out.
I douby very much that there is some kind of conspiracy.
The site still takes their rake.
So what good would it do them?

read back over my posts. Ive never said that there is a conspiracy, or that PPP is rigged. I dont think anything is done purposely. I just think something aint right with it. Maybe it is the random number generator, i dont know.
