SIMM memory

    buying a new sampler that has possible expansion with an extra 32 megs of SIMM ram i think it is

    now what exactly is SIMM?

    i have DIMM i think in mine

    but ive a few old pentium 1s and stuff like that, would they have SIMM ram in them?

    Dimm Is Dual inline memory module, Simm Is Single inline memory module, as google will tell you, Simms and Dimms are generally incompatible, Simms come in pairs, at least they do with PC's, Simms wer done away with in the early pentium days, Pentium 2 onwards used Dimms. The Simms the pentium's took where 72 pin, but i think there was Simms that wer 30 pin for pre 486's, so its quite possible that your sampler takes the simms out of your old pentium.
