    Hi all,

I just got myself Poker Tracker finally, don't know why I waited so long, looking forward to setting it up tonight and having a look for leaks in my game.

I was just wondering from the more experienced players/ users of PokerTracker, do you have any advice as to what in particular to look for?? I know this is a bit broad a question and has probably been beaten to death, but maybe it'll spark a bit of a debate.

P.S. If you don't have Poker Tracker yet, I got it for free on Pokerpromotions.net, just by playing 100 raked hands (at any level) on Bodog.com. Nice and fishy site. If anyone decides to do it say Poker_Brat1 referred you. Cheers.

And sorry for the shameless plug, but I would like any advices people may have on PokerTracker.

Just read the "Internet Poker Is Fixed" thread, which was helpful.

1 take a bit of time to get used to it, explore everything you can do
2 get 10k hands at a certain level
3 go through each hand (ie AA then KK and so on) and see which hands are profitable or not, if they arent profitable explore why not. For example Ak utg might be losing you money. Have a look through the hands and see if there is a recurring theme. Also some hands might not be as profitable as they should be. Do this with an open mind
4 do the same as above but this time by position. Ie BB, SB utg and so on. Remember you are supposed to lose money from the blinds, but you need to try and limit this.
    5 Steal underwear
    6 ......
    7 Profit!

Thanks Hector, most helpful as always.

I found some good articles on it through here as well, but I think that is a great place to begin from.

I have another question though - Is there a difference between the number of Hand Histories needed for a meaningful analysis of my ring game stats as opposed to my STT stats? Or is it basically just, as a general rule of thumb, a minimum of 10K hands per level each regardless??

Also, as to be expected, I play differently generally when playing tourney's as opposed to Ring Games, so my question is - can an analysis of my tourney play be helpful when looking for leaks in my Cash game play. (I only ask this because I have hundreds of Hand Histories for tournements saved in my e-mail and on my computer, but very few for Ring Games, which I've always dabbled in, but have been playing far more recently than in thew past and they seem to be quite profitable thus far.

    5 Steal underwear
    6 ......
    7 Profit!

    -But.....what's step six?
    -Profit!
    -No that's seven. what's six?
    -Steal the underwear...then..
    -what..?
    -...then profit.
    -but what about six?
    - :(

Your STT records might be helpful for plugging some general gaps in your play but I'd say it would be very hard to apply it to your cash game strategies. Tournament play is just too different.

    Hi Ste05,
If you go to bet-the-pot.com they have very good rating criteria you can download.. cause the ones you get with Pt ain't great.

Can you post a link to where you can download these criteria, I had a look and although haven't read all the Poker Tracker articles, can't see where to download - is it just a copy and paste job??

There's a link to the file in one of the first few articles. It's not difficult to find.
