Dvd-R Problem

    Alright lads,

Just got back from Wales and I bought a spindle of 25 TDK DVD-R's to burn some films onto.

Heres the problem none of the discs are being detected by my pc. All my other dvds ( DVD-RW and DVD-R ) are being accepted.

Whats the problem here lads, is there something different between the discs in the UK and here?

    Thanks in advance, CrimE.

DVDs are made to a standard, or rather to two standards.
There are DVD-R and DVD+R, and of course RWs of both types as well, and also dual-layers of all 4 of the previous types....

Anyway, check and make sure the DVD-Rs you bought are the same format as the ones you have previously used. Some DVD-R drives can only read one format, + or -, but not both.
Or it could be that your drive doesn't like this brand of disc, it does happen - my DVD+/-RW refused to work with a cake of DVD-Rs I bought, till I upgraded the firmware on it.
