Just had to post this pic from the recent Earthshaker Festival where the mighty MANOWAR played a gig celebrating their 25th anniversary which featured all 8 past and present members of the band. This is what putting on a show is all about :)

    DSCF0145.JPG

    Manowar setlist at Earthshaker Festival:
    - ManOwaR
    - Brothers of Metal
    - Call to Arms
    - My Spirit Lives On
    - Kings of Metal
    - Sign of the Hammer
    - Blood of my Enemies
    - Kill with Power
    - Sting of the Bumblebee
    - Metal Warriors (with Rhino and David Shankle)
    - Glory of Achilles (with Rhino and David Shankle)
    - Metal Daze (with Ross the Boss and Donnie Hamzik)
    - Dark Avenger (with Ross the Boss and Donnie Hamzik)
    - Outlaw
    - House of Death
    - Herz Aus Stahl (Heart Of Steel sung in German for the German audience = class)
    - A Tribute to Wagner
    - The Ascension (with CHRISTOPHER LEE)
    - King of Kings
    - Warriors of the World
    - Hail and Kill
    - Black Wind, Fire and Steel
    - Battle Hymn (with ALL bandmembers, past and present)
    - The Crown and The Ring

Manowar performed with all band members(including former members) and they played Battle Hymn with all 8 members past and present on stage. The band had Christopher Lee do speaking parts on numerous songs, and played two new tracks, the "Ascension" and "King of Kings". They were also accompanied by a FULL symphony orchestra and a FULL backing choir.

God I'd really love to see them live. They're one of the only bands I like that I've never seen.
A few mates saw them at Dynamo in 99 (I think) & thought they were crap, but their opinions don't really count! :D

I do believe it was recorded with a DVD release in mind. Christopher ****ing Lee! Ahhh if only Orson Welles was still alive :(

I was at it. Christopher Lee didn't turn up - he had to do a film somewhere. His parts were recorded, but there was a hundred piece orchestra and a 100 piece choir on three different levels at both sides of the PA.

Battle Hymns was the grand finale when all three drummers played. it was simply incredible. There were fireballs coming out of the stage and fireworks.

I was at that Dynamo gig as well and it was a dodgy show for them. They hardly played any songs. They were simply the best band in the world at Earthshaker. The new single 'King of Kings' is a killer too.

    Nearly 40000 at it.

Here's a shot I took of the lightshow.
