galway alt band need muscians

we the "october sunshine" consist of a very experienced pianist and me the singer/guitarist who like to play original music and a few alt covers.

we are looking to get a drummer/guitarst/bassist to fill the band and start playing covers in galway city starting asap.

influences are anything, i am sick of hearing the killers/damien rice/blink 182 over and over again. its not that i dispise their music its just every feckin band in galway plays them. where is the orginality? in the october sunshine hopfully.

we have a view of doing this to fund realesing some original material later this year, so the you would have to want to write original too!

I would like to start something with a band i play some guitar and drum`s not sure of my skill level and never been in a band ,:) so if your in the same place or want to try something let me know, maybe give me something to learn

hey, have you heard of 'the national'? I know loads of their songs, guitar bass keyboard and drums, they're excellent musicians/songwriters imo, few people here have heard of them though. from Cincinnati via Brooklyn. they're on youtube.

Have been playing for years, but not in a group for some time. I can play pretty much any style but veer away from jazz and very hard stuff. Have been looking to get back in and checking on boards.ie for the past few months but just saw your post. Play all the time, have had classical training in guitar but mostly play indie rock, sure maybe we can meet up and see. pm or post if if you think there's a potential.
