I recentely upgraded Windows XP home edition to Windows XP Pro. The only trouble I am having is with my monitor. When I go into settings and try to change the resoultion it wont let me. I have tired troubleshooting but when I go into monitor type, the type is default and I am unable able to select properties. I am using a dell monitor and I am unsure of what particular model I am usinig and I dont know how to find that out either. The model of my computer is Dell Dimension 4600. I have downloaded the latest dell monitor drivers but I am unable to install them as in the control settings the properties tab is not highlighted. Any suggestions on how I may be able to resolve this issue. Any help or links would be of great help.

    Thanks
    D

its probably the graphics card drivers.
go to the dell site and enter your service tag into the support section and download the graphics drivers.

your pc will run the graphics card at basic settings to let you install windows etc,
but you need to update its driver once your up and running.
