Sponsored prizes for weekly online tourney - 6 weeks of free DVD rentals

    Hi guys,
    With the weekly poker.ie online tourneys on 'Stars, we have now got sponsored prizes to add to the pool. Screenclick.com are offering 6 weeks of free DVD rentals, every week. The winner will be the one who shows the highest 5 carded hand of the tourney. If you dont know about Screenclick, they are Irelands biggest online DVD rental site. They send DVD's to your door, no late fees, biggest collection in Ireland etc.

    The tourneys are every Tuesday night at 8 o'clock, on Pokerstars. Buy in is $10+1. Table name is "NickyODs weekly suckout fest", and tonights (2nd August) table number is 10724609!

    What happens if they send you DVDs and you don't return them, or 6 months later or whatever?

    The prize is a 6 week free subscription - you are able to hold onto the DVD for as long as you are subscribed. (they have to cover themselves aswell ;) ) Im not sure what the overlay is of cancellation to return of DVD. but basically in order to get another DVD, you have to return the one you have out...this way you can rent around 12 a month, or however fast you want to return them.

    Why don't you give the subscription to the winner? I don't like high hand prizes, it's not like the winner has shown any skill to get the prize.

    Well I wanted to have it going to highest hand to add a different element to the tournies. Aswell, its actually favoured towards the winners because they will be in the tourney the longest and thus have more chances of getting the highest hand.

    Tonight will be the second week of the sponsored prizes. If the general consensus is that giving it to the winner is more favoured, we can change it no problemo for future weeks.
