Just spent my first few hours in the MAC store on Oxford Circus.

Christ if god used a mac, and set up churches it'd be like this. Also. God would have to like soft pine as a look.

It's so pleasant. The refreshing postive helpful attitude of the staff, free tutorial lectures on the basics (a three hour lecture on Garage band 2, how to use it on every level), the free computers for browsing, the backroom extended lectures (which must be paid for) the attitude and relaxed atmosphere, it had the feel and difference of a gallery verus a asda. From a philosophical point of view the style and attitude of the apple story was just so refreshing the only downside was the fact that to meet one of the "genius'" means you need to arrive early (like soviet Q's early) it's annoying when you see people with "ipod" issues holding up a Q.

I'm aware it's just clever marketing on Apple's part, but well, I'm sold.

I couldn't agree more. I spent a couple of hours there over the weekend - it is such an inviting store, just walking in the door and you want to be a part of it. There is no hard sell - you end up doing this yourself! I found it hard not to buy something!
