I put this guy on a mid pair, probably 77/88. Don't ask me why I did't reraise preflop. Anyway, what's my move when when the flop comes up?

Where u 1st to act? if so i would have bet about half the pot, putting him to the test.

put him to the test? if he pushes then I can't fold. I should either put him all in now or check fold.

put him all in i say. if he has any pair under 1010 you have 2 overcards, 3 for a straight and a backdoor flush draw. but more importantly the guy cant cripple you if he doubles up. i dont think youre losing this guy with an all in raise but at least youre giving him the option. i think these are the kind of moves you must make at times in tournament play and races you must win if youre going to be winning in tournaments.

    Exactly.

At the time I actually thought I had the pot odds to put him all in if my read was correct. Turned out I was actually a little shy. I have 11 outs. Ace, Ten. 3 and the backdoor flush counts as 1 so I'm about 2/3 to win the hand. I pushed, he had 77 and I made a flush. Got flamed in the chat. I stand to lose about 300 chips with this move on average but then I see so many player making this min raise with hands like JQs that if I factor those hands in then its obviously an automatic push.

Well if he's got a mid pocket pair he's not going to fold if you go all in with that flop and with him being shortstacked. If you push and he calls it'll be 5000 to win 8000 so it's not a bad move odds-wise and you still have a small bit of fold equity if he hasn't got a pair/paired the board.
If he raised with two high cards you're already ahead, and if he's raised with an ace it's 50/50 that he's ahead with better kicer/two pair so it still looks good odds-wise.
I'd put him all in here.

Edit: Ah, too late. You say you're 2/3 win this hand with 11 outs. 11 outs is approx 42%, how did you get 66%?

It's about 40% to 59% or 2/3. It's slightly less than 42 because he still has a shot at hitting one of 2 7s or a backdoor straight to cancel my outs.

This hand completely depends on the player. I'd have to consult my notes for this one. If I thought AT was good pre-flop, then it's probably good now and I'd push..

On the other hand, if the guy was tight enough I'd check fold. Although if he was a tight player i'd have folded pre-flop.

Yeah I definitely misplayed it preflop, but I like my move after the flop. Its very very close though. It got me to the final table anyway. Haven't seen one of those in a while.
