    A-hoy maties,

Helix ive seen ur name bangin around a bit! Mauro Picotto's old forum am i right? You people might just be able to help me.
Two tunes i need help ID'ing.
    1) ...out in the 90's was cut using the sound of chainsaw's! The theme of the video/tune was the destruction of the amazon, and it featured some trancy vocals, think it was native american indian(s) or some ****. Kinda reminiscent of enigma's "return to paradise".
    2) Mauro/Darren used to lash this out in the temple. I think it sounded like a celtic war tune or something, really heavy, and fast. Started with real threatining drums (not disimilar to the kinda drums u hear in riverdance but without the chese) dum-da, dum-da, duma-da, duma-da, the usual. The drums would fade and a voice would come in repeating a single word maybe bang, bang, bang or something, it wasnt very audible. U could here a riff building up and then some piercing synths would kick in that almost sounded like bagpipes or something. Then the drums would come back in and the place would just fall apart - ****ing bedlam. Know i know the temple croud was known for going a bit nuts from time to time (like when taub or something came on) but seriously when this tune was in full flight - absolute frantic ape****. Anyways hope someone can id these tunes for me - (Helix im lookin at you)

I dont know if this is it for the 2nd song but is it native-feel the drums? that song was out around that time I think..

i was a temple regular. week in week out, crypt of a friday upstairs or both of a saturday. i'm not gonna get into a full on memory lane review as im legging it soon and dont have the energy.

but i will say, in the dozens of times i was there, apart from the sheer MENTAL nites (picotto, tidys, piu, fasano, BXR, tall paul) some of the nites that still stand out in my head are the resident nites. darren flynn j.pidgoen and ken tobin of note.

i'm stuck for a few darren flynn tune id's myself lads, if you could help me out it would be great ! it's gonna be tough to try explain but I'l give it a go !

    1. Very simple piano based house tune, haunting female lyrics, but in a sort of a good feel vibe. Sounds like someone for example Tori Amos/Sarah Mclachlan or something like that. Saw the actual record while he was playing it in the crypt, was just a plain white label with something scribbled in blue pen on it.

    2. He would cain this tune every time he was playing on the main stage on Saturday nights at Space. This tune had a real heavy beat and was funky ass fcuk. Was pretty much the same throughout but it had this sort of funky rhythm that was just relentless, but you just couldn't stop moving to it, Quality :) When playing the tune he always used to mess about with the bass gain, every single time he played it he would mess about with the bass, in and out. The way he used to do it looked savage as well, he used to have savage movement on the decks.

    3. Have no idea whatsoever how to explain this tune, but I'l give it a go. Very techy and emotional, dark and dirty, but absolutly savage. Would have been a big tune of his around 1999/2000. Out of all the global underground cd's and others from around this time I can't believe no one else sniffed it out. Again I saw him play the tune in the crypt, the vinyl inlay was split down the middle 1 side green and 1 side black. If I had to compare it to another tune I'd have to say "the light - expand the room (4 storys high mix)" off hooj, or "life on mars - invisible tears" off sorted, that sort of tune.

    Any idea's ?

    Cheers
