I have a package sent from America over 2 weeks ago and it still hasnt arrived. Does anyone know who picks up the package in Ireland, is it an post?
The tracking was updated last when it left America, nothing has come up since.
Didnt know where else to ask this question.

    Hi,

Yes An Post deliver USPS packages. Depending on the USPS service you choose it might be delivered by SDS (the express USPS services would be delivered by SDS, normal airmail/surface by An Post).

Word of warning. Accidentally had a package sent by USPS surface (not airmail). Took over 4 weeks to arrive...

Also cant be tracked once it leaves the US... afaik

At the time, I was told that surface mail from the States is shipped via container. When the container is full, its shipped. So the time it takes to cross the Atlantic can vary...

I've had a few things delivered from the states & the post is extremely slow. First delivery took 3 weeks. Second parcel was sent over 2 weeks ago.
USPS quote delivery times to Ireland anywhere between 5 & 30 days.

I sent something to the states over a month ago - it took 7 days to arrive.
    That's good.

Once the registered post leaves the states, tracking is non-existent.

Um...there's a difference between USPS and UPS; one's the US post office and the other is a private courier.

The OP's package may be cleraing customs or sitting in an An Post sorting office...tracking will update once it has cleared customs here, and will update again once it's been delivered to you.
In my experience, items sent by USPS usually bypass VAT/duty, unless it sticks out like a sore thumb that they're valuable...
