What's on your list to get in the next year or so? I don't mean what you would love to get but what you ACTUALLY intend to get?

    Me:

Amp - ENGL Screamer Combo(although i'm still considering fender and vox)

Pedals - Line 6 DL4, Boss TU2, Whammy, Boss GE7 and some kind of flight case for them.

Guitars - Acoustic, probably the ibanez in my other thread but i may hold out longer and get something better. Electric, no plans on buying one but i want to upgrade the humbuckers in my Epi Goldtop.

That's really it, once all this is gotten, i'll think of some different stuff to get to experiment with.

Effects - Might need a good guitar distortion for the times when I'm not playing my own amps, other than that... none.

They're one sweet deal. I don't like the unfinished neck and the poly finish though.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

I love unfinished necks. Savage instruments considering they're Korean made.

Indeed. Korea is getting better these days though. Fender are making a few interesting and affordable models there now.

Bass Amp, looking at a few possibilities but looking at a H&K Basskick 200 from thomann. Other than that, a new pc from komplett parts and a trip to germany, and if i have money left over itll be a new bass.

Just orderd my all valve Laney half stack so thats off my list.
IMO Laneys, especially the all valve ones, are the most underated amps around.
Next is a ESP DV8.(in silver  .... drools...)
And a set of EMGs for my explorer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,204 ✭✭✭Kenny_D

    Similar to Ravelleman

Guitars: Vintage Tokai LP Reborn LS80 (fingers crossed for next week)

Amps: Peavey Classic 30 or Classic 50

Effects: Vox V847 (Keeley modded with any luck) or v848 Wah

Hoping to have it all within a month or two at most :D

i was actually thinking of getting a half stack laney, i actuall really like the ones in Loop, they sound sweet. But they only have one channel, which just sucks!

Yeah that is a disadvantage but they do have footswitchable gain and I plan on getting a tube screamer aswell.Or you just spend a bit more and get a VH100R.

I always thought the peavey classics we're just copies of fender devilles. They sound great, but not as great as the fender ones. Considering they're roughly the same price (i think) would it not be better to go with a fender one?

    Guitar:fender highway

    Amp:micro cube....maybe

    Effects:None

but if i can't save enough i'll have to go for another hollow body.

    Shopping list, huh?

Whenever the custom made guitar is ready, that'll have to be be payed for, so that's first up.

    After that...
New pickups for the Ibanez RG1527.
Fix up the old Assassin finally.
    Might get a tubescreamer.
    A white Tokai Les Paul.

After that, if I'm crazy rich...
Ernie Ball Music Man 7 String John Petrucci signiature model with a Piezo system, or an LGM Leviathan 7 String with a piezo system.

I was actually just on Thomann trying to figure out exactly this before I saw this post. I've just picked up the Jmp1 I'd been thinking about buying for the last while on Ebay, so I think I'll probably put together the rest of the rack over the next couple of months. The Jmp1 is actually quite noisy so I'll probably get a Rocktron Hush and hopefully that'll sort the noise out. I think I'll stick with the Digitech Gnx3 for effects and midi control for the moment but eventually I'll replace it with something like a TC G Major and have everything in a rack controlled by a Behringer FCB 1010 or something similar. I see Behringer also have a cheap Furman knock off power distributor / rack light, so I might add one of them to the shopping list too. Other than that maybe a wah and a bunch of cables and patch leads, that should do me. Long-term, I'd love an Ehx micro synth, although if money wasnt an issue I'm sure I could think of a one or two more things to add to the list.

:p Yeah my days of being a broke student are finally over and I can eventually afford the kind of rig I've wanted for quite a while but couldnt afford. I just got payed last week for the first time in a quite a while so my GAS has kinda gone up a notch.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Thanks to a nicely timed snipe 5 seconds before the end of auction, I won this:

Gotta feel for the other high bidder, beat him by a euro :p

So thats one thing off the list. Just need my vox wah now

Get the JMP serviced, it could be that a dodgy valve or something on the board itself that's worn out and needs replacing.
In fact, if it's of any age and has had regular use, I'd wager that's exactly what's wrong. Don't waste money getting rid of the noise with more kit, fix the amp!

this is a wish list as i will never have enough money for this
    guitar - fender strat

    amp - peavey classic 50

    effects - chorus pedal.

Personally, I'd get a pedal board that would hold the whammy, wah and volume pedal. And buy the power supply in Ireland.

I agree. The BCB-60 is good but very limiting.
You should fire off an email to the NYC Pedalboard guys - they can probably build you a board to your specs for almost the same price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,989 ✭✭✭✭Giblet

I actually want the Bigger pedals seperate :S

The NYC ones look good though !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

It's all personal preference, but IMO the BCB loses out to "ordinary" boards in terms of flexibility. Not sure what type of non-Boss pedals you can stick on it...

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

That NYC bunch looks decent. As Ancient1 said, it is personal perference but I'd prefer all my pedals on one board, like Conall from MGS.

is it just me or is he the most mentioned guitarist on these boards? :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

    Same here.

And i'd much rather read about "Conall from MGS", whom i've never met, than another "who's better Metallica or Megadeth" or "who's the bestest guitarist ever ever ever in the universe" thread :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Agreed.

Ya know, I'd love to get one of those pedal boards although I am lacking pedals. And funds :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

I'd love a custom made one as well, but i don't have the need for it.

How can i make myself have a need for it....buy more pedals?

And to contribute to the topic:

An electronic tuner is on my shopping list. I'm coming up in the world!
