    Hi All,

I'm trying to edit & save winlogon.exe in system32 folder.

I've managed to edit sucessfully, but I cannot save to system32 folder because winlogon.exe is already in use. I've tried safe mode, but no joy :(

Does anyone know a way around this?

    Thanks in advance.

    SH

You could save it somewhere else on the system and boot up to command prompt and override it, very unlikely to be in use. Why are you trying to edit it anyway?

    Hi silas,

Thanks for the quick reply - it worked like a charm :D , although I then had to get 'round windows file protection (so much for that!)

As to why I want to edit it? Well, winlogon contains many of the text strings used when logging in & out, & I wanted to change a few - I've waaaay too much time on my hands :)

    Thanks again.

    SH
