Is it possible to convert from scart output to phono leads and then into svideo on a PC tv card?

Where could you get long phono leads to do the job?

Can you not just go from scart to svideo?

How long do you need it to be?

5 to 10 meters. Silly me, yes scart to svideo would do. But do you have to run the sound seperatly?

Any ideas on where to obtain these?

You shouldn't have to as both scart and s-video both carry an audio signal through them.

No they don't, s-video is video only.

Also SCART isn't a video format, its a connector and pin arrangement. SCART can carry composite, s-video and RGB (video) and also has a stero audio pair.

If your SCART output has s-video (you'll need to see the equipment spec as some only have composite on SCART) then a simple SCART/S-video will do. You'll need to take the audio pair out of the scart and into the PCs sound card as well.

get one of these in any electronic store in town. take an s-vid cable and then use audio (phono) cables to run the sound from this into you pc.

Not sure of what that has do do with this - it's a special cable for an "ActionMedia 2 Audio/Video Capture" carrying the audio on spare pins. This has nothing to do with the s-video standard.

The s-video spec is a 4 pin DIN (Luminance & Chrominance)
