The DELL site is just outrageous and DELL/lexmark have made refilling difficult [need to drill holes]

    so maybe compatibles?

Dont know if it is just me but I bought a refill kit for the cartridges for the dell 720 and now the black wont work at all !!
Would also be interested in finding cheaper options.

Dont know exact prices for Dell/Lexmark but www.7dayshop.com are very cheap for
everything. They are based in the Channel Islands.Recently had a sale where I got 6 black and 6 colour for my Epson delivered for less than €18.Have used them for over 2 years and have not had any bother. They also do cameras,
memory cards, paper, in fact everything.

Did you get the refill kit from Tesco by any chance?

I know that vat is not payable on anything under £18 in UK, but is that true here also?

Yes it is same here. They will break your order down so that no one packet is over £18.Even if they send 4 or 5 packets they only charge for P+P once.

Dell got lexmark to change the cartridge shape a little, so they are dell specific for the dell printers. I'm not 100% on the next bit, but I recall reading in a trade mag a while ago that the dell cartridges are somehow coded so that the printer will refuse a non dell cartridge (compatible), making the compatible market more or less non-existant for dell's.

Dell pretty much give away their printers now, and charge a fortune for the ink (Kodak did that in the early days of mass photography and made a killing).

It may be cheaper to just buy a new printer, either a cheap dell, or a something like a canon which is cheap to refill.

Viking - I bought it of this site (see link below).
I think in fairness i made a hamfisted job of injecting the ink.

I got the Tesco one, followed the instructions exactly and it prints crap, like the head is blocked or something. I did wonder whether drilling a hole in a plastic cartridge would cause lots of little plastic shavings to go into the cartridge itself.

I find this place very reasonable
    www.justmedia.ie
They have a shop in finglas so no need for ordering online
