Help - I spend way too much time looking at porn on the internet (every day).

Has anybody else got this problem?

Is it legal to look at adult porn?

    Do ISPs track your browsing?

    Any help welcome

yes, government officials always track porn from their porn master 2.5 satelite, they especially love troll loving porn.

On the other hand, it's not wrong, don't feel guilty, if you really do then stop and get a gf.

Adult porn is legal in Ireland , once it contains consenting adults. Porn that includes donkey's is actually incouraged in certain parts of the west.

It's legality is a grey area in Ireland, basically it depends on the content of the porn your viewing. Some (humans with animals for example) is regarded as "obscene" in some countries (Ireland) and not in others (Denmark). I'm sure some legal boys here can clarify this.

Yes, as of this year all ISP's are legally obliged to keep copies of all email tramsmitted and the IP's (incl full URL?) with date and time for a MINIMUM of 3 years. This goes for your text's and phone records too.

There's absolutley nothing wrong with looking at porn on the internet so do not feel at all bad about it. If any male says they have never looked at porn I would think that would be very strange TBH. I used to look up porn quite a bit around the 16/17 age mark but since then I've got a life and experienced real life women :D which I can tell you is alot better watching!

It's also legal to look at porn as long as it involves consenting adults and does not involve child abuse/bestiality etc.

ISP's do track your browsing for security and legal purposes but you won't get jailed for looking at porn

The net has made porn for women far more accessible too. I was cleaning up my mates PC of viruses, went into history, found somebody searching for "big gay blowjob cock" and loads of other stuff for about 3 hours straight after searching for hotels in tenerife, asked him who was going there, it was his 19 year old sister, who is quiet as a mouse, little miss butter wouldnt melt in her mouth looking for pics of lads with scutter and semen in their mouths. My mate was disgusted, started saying "well shes going with her boyfriend, it could have been him looking it up", then decided that was even worse!

we caught lots of girls on the filth in work and college, always the quiet ones, and nearly always the gay porn.

I think everyone has pretty much answered your question but why did you censor the word porn in the title? It's not like it's a bad word.

    It's not like that bad word m*sturbation . :D

Just a warning. If you do watch too much of it you'll find the real thing doesn't do it for you and it'll lead to major embarassment and problems with a girlfriend or whatever getting back to normal so if I were you I'd just say "right that's that" and pack it in for a good bit. You can always go back and watch the odd bit if you feel you really need to but only when you feel you would be ok performing in real life.

It has been in the news in various countries that men are becoming unable to get aroused in real life sexual encounters because they're watching too much pr0n so you'd want to look after yourself by stopping.

Remember when you were 15 and a girl touched you you'd get a boner like no other and if she touched down there you'd be ready to blow in less than a minute. Or when you could **** yourself off over the thought of your hottest teacher in under 2 minutes with no problems? :) Well I guarantee now if you were in the same situation nothing would even happen down there because it'd be nothing like the golden hollywood shagging you're most likly watching regularly on your monitor which has desensitised you.

    Which would you rather?

Your quite simple Dilemma is this:
    Embarassment in real life
or that **** on your screen.

Give it up man. Delete all of it off your pc (YES even the BEST films) and ALL your favourite links AND clear your histories and temp internet files so you can't go typing in "www.l..." and internet explorer finishing the addresses off for you so you can get back to the sites or whatever because if you don't you'll get stuck on it and you'll never properly disconnect. And throw out all the burnt CD/DVD's.

You need to do it for yourself!
Take it from a Pro :)
They didn't call me Porny McDownload for nothin ;)
    Give it up!

    Ry

Haha, as if getting a gf and all that was that easy in reality :D As easy as downloading some vids.

I think after a while porn just gets boring, it won't have the desired effect even as porn. And women watch porn too, and yes, more gay porn, maybe cause they want to see men in action?

Porn is great although it does get boring after a while so it's gotta be limited. Besides, where else would you get the idea of cumming all over a girls face??? :D

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 7,486 ✭✭✭Red Alert

It kinda loses it's appeal really, of course I probably checked some out when I was a teenager with the usual raging hormones etc.

It's not illegal to view adult porn with consenting adults - might be not allowed in your workplace however!

Seriously get a shag and/or later on a girlfriend - it will be much more rewarding. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,405 ✭✭✭KillerShamrock

Yeah give it up cause next time you want to blow your load and there is no porn or women around to help, it will be fairly difficult just using your imagination. trust me
Get a shag buddy or what ever they call them now all the fun of sex without the realtionship problems :D

Help - I spend way too much time looking at porn on the internet (every day).
The rights, wrongs and hairy palms aside, spending too much time doing anything is bad.

Psychological addiction can be developped towards many practices, and since viewing and masturbating to pornography involves one of your key libidinal urges (that is to say, the drives that make you reproduce and the drives that make you stay alive long enough to reproduce and look after your progeny) it can be a particularly powerful focus for such addictions.

Men Against Pornography used to have a site with advice on fighting such addictions. I can't find it right now, but it might be worth taking a look whether or not you agree with their politics.

Sorry to inform you dude but Irish ISPs have been doing this for at least five years....texts and phone records as well!

Believe me, I know for a fact!

A lot of people are addicted to Internet porn, it has a very powerful attraction since to targets one of our fundamental needs. It is an issue that is rarely discussed though. Since you find yourself "spending way to much time" you should try cut it out completely and seek help if possible. It is like alcoholism, some people can have a social drink but an alcoholic never can. Similarly some guys can look at porn and not have any problems but those who can’t control themselves or find the urge overwhelming must cut it out completely. Otherwise like another poster said you could be in for some serious problems as regards real world sexual contact.

Is it legal to look at adult porn?

Yes providing it consists of consenting adults

    Do ISPs track your browsing?

    Have no idea

The phone companies had understood they had to retain billing information (date/time, duration, number, rate) for 6 years because of the Statute of Limitations, in case someone disputed a bill. They were then ordered to retain information for 3 years by (secret) directive of the Government in September 2001 on state security grounds. When this was enacted in legislation, the Data Protection Commissioner objected.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 16,659 ✭✭✭✭dahamsta

What Victor didn't mention is that the data that was being retained before the secret directive was traffic data only, i.e. not emails, urls, etc. The data protection commissioner ordered them to delete it (after six months), the government told them not to (with that not-so-secret secret directive).

smokingman, I think the point Rubens was trying to make - and if he wasn't, I was - is that you don't know for a fact, because your facts aren't square. Citing the DPA doesn't work I'm afraid.

I think this should be even more of a worry in the summer, where, in theory, there are far more interesting things to do. In fairness, if you look at a bit of porn for half an hour, and then do the business, there's nothing really wrong with that, as long as you're not doing it every day. When you start building up a collection, a library of porn, that's a little strange. Frank Skinner was in Q Magazine recently saying that whenever he gets chatting to a serious porn collector, they always say that every so often they just dump the lot, or sell the lot, and then gradually it all builds up again. I suppose you'll just cleanse yourself out so many times that in the end you won't be tempted to go back because other things in your life will have replaced the thrill value.

I though pr0n was for the cool kids, then I saw a 'Fart Brazil' clip. The scars will never...ever....ever heal I tell ya.

That will probably put you right off your irreversible addiction tbh.
