I've got a '98 Ford Escort, recently got a Cobra alarm installed (professionally)....noticed that when I arm the system, it doesn't activate the dead locking on the car.....anybody know if this is possible?

If you have central locking in the car then it is possible.

You possibly need a relay assembly to activate the central locking when the alarm is set.

Speak to your Cobra Installer and they will give you a price for this.

Maybe the person who installed it would be a better person to ask?

Just to clarify, the alarm does activate the central locking, it just doesn't activate the dead locking (which stops the doors being opened from the inside)

I had a Honda CRV,I had to press the lock button a 2nd time to activate the deadlock,my brother has an Opel Astra that does the same.

Yeh my Dad has a Mondeo & pressing the button two times activates the central locking as does turning the key in the door quickly anti-clockwise & then clockwise (As is the setup in my Escort)
However this is an after market alarm system. The car already had central locking, the guy who installed it wired the central locking into the alarm system but not the dead locking feature.
Maybe I'll just give him a call and see (if I can find his number)

    Just to note:

We bought a VW Golf recently and thekey-fob has the following function.

Press Button once to activate alarm, central locking and deadlocks.
Press Button twice to activate alarm and central locking only.
