Im sure you wouldnt have too many problems finding a side. Most of the dublin leagues are pretty competitive so the fun goes out the window when the training starts.

Strand United are a quality team and they train up in Mount Temple School in Clontarf if you're in the area.

If it's just for fun and fitness, possibly enter a team up in the Astro league. It's great fun and if you progress up the leagues a bit, it can get competitive.

Also, the old Astro Park up in Coolock is great for just a decent game and run around on whatever days you fancy. They run leagues as well so all you need is a 6/7 people and you got yourself a team. As well as a bar for afterwards. ;)

I play for Stand seconds and they are a great club to train/play with. Pre-season is only two weeks old so now's a good time to come down and get stuck into it...

I thought it would be good fun, my team was up challenging for top spot in our astro group until recently, going along nicely, then everything fell apart. One or three teammates started losing the rag, roaring abuse for no good reason during games, so I quit. If you're not enjoying playing then there's no point.

Good luck finding a team though oochie.

hey - I'm in the Dundrum / Sandyford area in S Dublin.
Anyone know of local clubs around here?
Surely there should be some playing in Marley Park? - that'd be well handy for me.
Like oochie, I just need to get my training and fitness back, as I havent played footie for a few years.
I thought I saw a banner for Dundrum Athletic FC on the old Ballinteer road, but it was gone when I wanted to get the number today.
Is there a website with Dublin League info?
Astro Leagues not really good for me, as I cant get the commitment of mates to join up.

    thanks for any info :)
