Windows Media Player 10 cant convert to mp3

    i can't convert audio cd's to mp3 format it keeps giving me this message

    "Windows Media Player cannot rip the track because a compatible MP3 encoder is not installed on your computer. Install a compatible MP3 encoder or choose a different format to rip to (such as Windows Media Audio)."

    Can anyone help me out

    have you downloaded all the available windows updates?
    http://www.microsoft.com and check for optional updates as well as critical updates. might b a audio encoder u have to download there

    Why not get CDEx? It's a good ripper and it will let you rip to mp3, wav, ogg etc..

    The free version of Winamp can't rip music to mp3 format. You have to pay for the pro version to do that.
    Ripping speed is limited to 2x in the free version
    Burning speed is limited to 2x in the free version
