I'm coming down to Cork for the big game this weekend (gonna report on it for Antesup.com) and wondered if there were any corkies on the forum? I know Sideshowbob pops in and out but it would be cool to meet up for a pint or whatever.

    Anyone heading down from Dublin?

    DeV.

hey Dev... Im a corkie... but to be fair I have never been inside the macau yet... actually was thinking of heading in tonight to see if I could win a ticket for the weekend tourney....

wouldn't have my hopes up though... don't have much practice in live tournaments.....

I stopped going to the Macau about 2 weeks ago, was on full tilt down there. I was planning on going back soon, though. What's on this weekend?

theres a $1000 NL tournament on..... its a special for the opening of the new poker room i think... tonight is the last of the qualifying satellites

Aparrantly all the Cork regulars have already won tickets to the big one so the later satelites may be a little softer. I'm tempted to head down but sense tells me I don't have the live bankroll for this kind of buy in just yet. I'll probably give it a miss and play the smaller events at the Fitz the following week.

hmmm... interesting... I might head in for a look so. I'd like to see what the standard is in there anyway.

I can really only judge my live play from home games. One of our players played in one of the Rochestown Park Hotel VC tournaments and came 5th....so i guess thats a good sign..

I'm in Cork. Won a ticket in a 50 sat on Monday. 3 tables, 50+5 with 2 rebuys +1 add-on (2500 chips starting, 3500 for rebuy/add-on). 3 1k tickets, 2 250 ticketds (and 150 cash for 6th). I sold my 1k ticket already, since I am working all weekend and won't be playing in the tourney. I will pop in for a cash game on a couple nights if I am awake enough after work.

Luckysod is another sometimes boardie/regular Macau player from Cork, but I'm not sure of any others.

See you down there, Devore! I got my seat into it from a $20 rebuy game on Paddy Power on Sunday and will be hoping to maintain my 100% tournament victory record in the Macau :)

I'll probably pay the 250 Friday night, came second on a PPP sattelite to a boards guy, kpnuts I think, so no 1000 game for me. If I see you there Dev, I'll come up and say hello.

Edit: From the post above, yes it was kpnuts, and by the way, fair play, killed me headsup.

I got a message from PPP.com about a "Kenneth Powell" who qualified, I wondered if that was you KP! If you want to share a room again, thats fine by me! How are you getting down?

Antesup.com will be following the fortunes of the players down there for the weekend, provided I can get internet access somwhere!

@ Doc: Only person Vamos scared the "bejiggers" out of was you and your 5% of my action :D

    @ Tom: I've sent u a PM. Give me a bell if u like :)

I'll be there Fri night Tom, not sure about Sat yet. I'll introduce myself to you and any other boardies there. You should have no problem with internet connectivity, they have a computer room upstairs set up for play on IrishEyes.com who are sponsoring the event.

anyone know how many players expected to play main event?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 442 ✭✭Lplate
