Suits in warm weather - a query..

Starting a new suit-wearing job next week, and I was wondering what's the best advice for wearing something (if anything) beneath the shirt. Firstly, I don't yet know how free I will be to remove the jacket component of the suit but assumng I am...

With the sporadic warm weather we're having, it's going to get quite warm in offices, never mind the walking to and from work. Is it good practice to wear light white t-shirts beneath shirts (I'm not sure of the shirt fabric)? On the one hand they'll stop the most obvious signs of sweating but, on the other, they'll obviously increase your body temp. Or is there any other better practice?

Why would you want to wear a t-shirt and a shirt plus a suit jacket in warm weather. Wear a cotton shirt and when that gets too warm you can take off the jacket. No employer will make you wear a suit jacket in this weather.

Keep the t-shirt for the winter months.

Agreed. You dont need a vest or tshirt in summer if you have a good quality shirt. Dont skimp and buy a thin one cos nobody likes nipples in a meeting.
Buy a lighter thread count suit to go with the warmer weather. Save the thick wolly numbers for the Winter.
Last but not least, use an anti-persperant , not just a deodourant and keep one at work for use through out the day.

No t shirt required, I would have thought, sweating is a natural bodily function unfortunately. :o

I would go with a t if wearing a light shirt , I worked with a guy who always wore light blue shirts and he had these huge sweat stains , it was sick , but when he wore a t underneath it was fine , I know its natural and all that but it does look rather manky.

I used to be in a similar position, always wore a t-shirt underneath to absorb any sweat. Shirts with sweat stains don't look good :-)
Usually you can leave your jacket on the back of the chair when you arrive in the morning, it's only required afterwards for v.formal business meetings (e.g. steering committee type stuff) or presentations.

good luck with the new job.

White short sleeve shirts are our best ally in the never ending war on pit stains. Seriously much cooler and white shows up persperation much less than any other colour. I wear nothing but whit to work and most days its a short sleeve and i find them great
