What type of antenna is this?

Folks, Take a look at the attached (sorry for the blurry picture). What type of antenna is this - (presumably its for Sat)? What might it be used for? Broadband or TV? It faces North/South. Cheers MtM

So this works on line of sight - point to point?

Is there a map of the transmitter locations anywhere?
What frequency does this operate at.

The antenna looks interesting - in my pic (see first post), the open side of the antenna (opposite side of the pole) points toward the Northwest and Woodcock Hill (Co. Clare) - presumably the transmitter is up there....

Anyone know more about these things?
