I don't know how so many people listen to rap/hip-hop and think it's music. Anyone can rip a few chods from an eighties tune, put ina break beat and say a poem about bitches, ho's, bling, smoke and cars. It is the cheapest of cheap music. I'm sick of listening to it when I go out.
Old hip-hop and rap was o.k. (such as public enemy) because it meant something, but now there;s no meaning in the music it's all about material crap. I thinx hip-hop needs a revolution. Anyone agree/disagree?

Not trying to start a row, just wanna see does anyone feel the same. Does hip-hop not get boring when you here them rapping bout the same crap in every song?

This is all I'm gonna say on this. And I didn't even say this , but I sort of agree. However, You can't compare what you hear on a night out with P.E. Anybody with any knowledge of hip hop knows this. **** thats coming into the charts is simply for clubs. To quote WEstwood, "Straight out club banger". Its starting to turn into all about the beat, get asses onto the dancefloor.

If you dont like it then why are you posting on a rap/hip hop board. Doubt anyone will even take your bait but nice try.

    Yup.

Gi, if your going to start a thread saying rap is cr@p, at least know what your talking about. I wouldn't go to the Dance forum and say Dance is sh!te unless I knew what I was talking about. There's plenty of threads here recommending good Hip Hop, go listen to some of the music posted in them. If you still think it's sh!te, fair enough. That's your opinon. Just don't base your opinon on some half assed tune you heard on MTV.

    Ah who gives a crap.
If somebody is going to tar a whole genre the same just from what they've seen on MTV I couldn't be arsed trying to explain there's more to the music than that. The same goes for almost all genres, so if you think that way about one you probably think that way about them all, hence making you an idiot.

Bottom line really is ALOT of what you hear & is classed as "rap/hiphop" is "made for radio" crap & is a very VERY poor representation, & frankly alot of it is produced by the same small group of people & in the same style; i.e. Kanye, Trackstars, Aeurlius7, Swizz Beatz etc.. It is NOT a fair representation of hiphop across the U.S.. Alot of the beats are either VERY "sampled" i.e. east coast beats, or predominantly southern style beats..... there is NO-ONE out there right now rockin modern west-coast style beats, not evne The Game or ANYONE on Aftermath Records...... hiphop is now "radio friendly" - or that's what you see in magazines, hear on the radio or see on MTV/VH1/KISS etc etc....

if he has a taste that encompasses those tunes he mentioned i'd say i'd rather not have him hanging around the dance forum either!

I agree with you all the way. It all sounds the same and its getting worse not better. I can't wait until it fades out. Tupac is probly rolling over in his grave at how pathetic it all really is.
