I was just experimenting, i shared out a cd n read it at the same time on 2 pc's... so i was just wondering would it be possible to have 2 pc's playing a game which required the cd to be in the drive if i just shared one copy??? (provided of course the game didn't read from the drive alot just at start up)

    No. smile.gif

I tried it once, and it didn't work. What I think happens is that a CD check is done on an CD-IDE drive, but a shared CD is in fact, treated as a network drive. It's why CD checks can spot that you've installed from the hard drive.

    yeah.

just make sure that the share you installed from is the same when you are playing.

    probally breaks license agreement

you can also copy the cd to your hd and
I think your can use the redir command to tell it that the cdrom drive access should be redirected to your hd.

used to do this in dos 5,dos 6.1 all the time
not sure if its still in windows
