Looking for a sun holiday (going late sept so needs to be still warm then) anywhere except the canaries or spain (done them all) and wouldnt be big on turkey either

What im looking for is a nice place for a couple with plenty to do and preferably a decent std of accomodation budget of €1k per person any ideas?

I was gonna suggest Cancun but hurricanes are big in the Carribean around September.

Just got back from France on camp site holiday.
Never thought I'd ever do that kind of holiday but it was worth it.
Mate just back from Croatia/Slovenia and said it was excellent.

Crete is also very good ..... mixture of lively and quite , whichever you are into. Nice quiet beaches, good food and wine. Good weather too at that time of year.

I was in Tunisia last year. Got a lovely holiday with 4* hotel, half-board and had a marvelous time. It is very quiet there but excellent beaches, cool water sports, plenty of room by the pool and local staff work very hard to please. A decent holiday altogether. Also, in terms of thrift, a bottle of beer costs one euro. You could get away with a lunch for two for only 15 euros sitting in a lovely harbour area with the sun beating down. Very international place, nice mix of all nationalities, so no mad congregations of Irish or English fouling up your experience. Instead, you get a pure break :)

Only downside to the holiday was the mad dash through duty free on our return flight. Basically, it's a very modern affair with plenty to buy until you get to the cash register and it's just organised chaos. The package holiday crews basically deposit everyone back at the hotel at the same time. The local staff aren't well trained, end up being confused to the point of refusing to take a credit card, for example. Lots of angry, stressed out people I can tell you.

The other thing to watch out for is the haggling that's expected of you in the local markets. If you're not experienced in it you could up end up being intimidated by their aggressive sales techniques. Truth is, their bark is worse than their bite and simply they are expecting you to join in haggling. Once you've figured that bit out then you will have a great time and find even greater bargains.

One thing I didn't do was go on the desert safari to take in Oasis' and old Roman ruins - looked promising but would take two days out of your holiday. So if you're into relaxation, give it a miss. You'll have a great time nonetheless.

All-in-all, a fantastic break and I'm considering going again this year.

    gonna look into dubai,

tbh i hate african traders, i find them agressive and foul mouthed, there were a lot of them on some of the canaries from morocco and places like that, they really put me off

the word browse isnt in their vocabulary

not sure what the weather would be like in late september but greece is always a good bet. Been to crete, zakynthos and kos. Loved kos and zakynthos, crete wasn't near as nice.
Greece is cheap, good restaurants and lots to do, especially if you hire a car.

havent been but croatia is meant to be nice too.

Fot the money you are talking about, and the time of year .... Croatia and Zakynthos would be my recommendations as well.

Should to be able to get reasonable deals that time of year, and the sea will still be warm.
