Can anyone tell me about network monitor for NT4?
I have a client who seems to have a slow network connection working right next to someone else who is fine.
I wish to capture some of the traffic to that pc, to see if traffic is the cause, or not.
I have all the cd's for server and workstation.
Where is it? How do i set it up etc?
    any tips?

As for netmon, don't have a clue. ( Is it part of the service pack ? If you want to monitor packets, get ethereal )

As for the slow speed, had this problem yesterday. Ensure that tcp/ip is the only protocol being used ( assuming that your network is tcp/ip based ) and also it could possibly be a DNS problem.

What is it slow connecting to ?

    Thanks for the reply Gav.

The machine is connecting to a host session on a remote server.
Essentially for this application the machine is acting as a dumb terminal.

I dont think its traffic on a switch or a router, cause other people in the same area are fine.

Where can I get this ethereal, and how does it work??

www.ethereal.org i think it is. or .com or one of em. It's a packet analyser. Basicaly listens to all packets running across the wire. Tis handy to find out and pronblems ith the network. Their is pretty good documentation on the website on how to use it.
