    Hi,

Over in Canada at the mo and i was thinking of getting my self an early b-day present, i was in a store and i saw this PDA, Palm LifeDrive E 4GB now it looks good and feels solid etc, and has the functonality i would like , i.e. 4gb for photo's/stuff/mp3's, wifi, bluetooth, nice display good detail for pic's, SD slot for viewing cam pic's, etc. so as it stands its looks good, but as you'd expect i'm someone who likes messing with software and various app's you find on the web, in other words i like something i can tweak and play with, not my question is, can you do all that on a palm or would i be better on getting a HP (or other brand ) one that uses win CE OS?
also a few more q's has anyone got one of these back home and liked it, is it good for listening to MP3's?
do web pages look ok on it , say I was on hol's and i wanted to book a hostel could it be done?
I asked the guys in the store and they all seemed a bit confused and real pushy to sell (you got to love commission worker!) so i couldn't get a straight answer.
also if your a PDA person buying a pda would you think HP iPaq rx3715 would be a better buy?

Thanks guy, i know theres a lot of q's but if i'm going to part with 500 big ones i better make a good choice !

    thanks

    Hey,

I seen some HD on Pixmania. Stand alone ones, which are 20GB+ about the same price. Except they dont offer MP3 Listening. Maybe you should wait, and go for something like a new type of PDA, which will have all this, PLUS the features of a PDA.. internet.. etc..

Shrimp, can you provide a link of a name for the HD on Pixmania?
I was trying to find it in their catalogue, but could not.

LifeDrive looks a bit too expensive, though it has a good feature package if you are looking for a PDA. Especially nice is the presence of both WiFi and Bluetooth networking and a SD slot. 4Gb storage space is nice, but it is not too much, if considering it for backing up pictures from a camera's MMC.

One thing that it is still lacking is a bigger screen resolution. Palm have been using 320x320 and 320x480 for some time now. 640x480 would be better.

Superman, did you buy this gadget in the end?

    Best,
