    Hey

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a decent graphics card in the 100-200 price range to go into an athlon 64 3200+, 1 gb ddr system.

Have half life 2 here waiting for something to run it on, also would be used for stuff like flightsim etc etc.

    Thx in advance :)

    6600GT or 6800GT...cheap enough on jes.de

you won't get the 6800gt for under 200, http://www.jes-computer.de/product_info.php?pID=19856 <- seems very good

although, the gainward is apparently the best performing http://www.jes-computer.de/product_info.php?pID=19490, apart from the bfg that is

I love the fantastically helpful replies from aaf and jaggeh aswell...

    To OP:
    Long Answer (Better)
    1) check out www.komplett.ie
    2) Go to graphics cards (either agp or pci-e, whichever you need)
    3) Arrange by price
    4) Look at the ones in your price range
    5) Copy and paste the card names, eg. 6600GT, 6800LE, X600XT, X600Pro, into google with the words "review benchmark" after the name.
    6) Look through reviews and benchmarks comparing speed
    7) Pick whichever sounds good to you.

    Short answer:
    1) Buy a 6600GT off komplett.ie

fanless is a bit of a dangerous recommendation without knowing that his PC has good ventilation... It could turn out that he has awful airflow and he could end up with a Gigabyte NVIDIA Melted 6600GT 128MB PCI-E ;)

Just having a laugh. Anyway, on topic. 6600GT is the best bang for buck graphics card around at the moment. Leadtek are a good bet if you can source one in Ireland. If not, go to Komplett.ie as DemonOfTheFall suggested and take your pick. Gainward are good aswell.

Ya I've been looking at the 6600GT - decent price. Komplett went down in my books this morning - good prices but kinda sarcy customer service.
