Can anyone tell me which ISP offers the cheapest dial-up access?

it depends on your home phone provider if it's just pay per minute - you can get dsl now for the same price as a couple of dial up hours per minute - except of course if you can't get dsl.

My phone provider is eircom and I currently don't have broadband access. I know eircom is probably the most expensive in terms of telephone costs but even if I change providers, eg to esat bt, I will still have to pay line rental to eircom, won't I?

heres what you do, change to euphony and then your internet access will be free

Edit: yes eircom will always need line rental from you, 30 euro per month AFAIK.

you can pay for line rental on your esat bill now if you want so you never get an eircom bill.
