It's Captain Planet - he's OUR Hero - gonna take pollution down to zero - he's out power's magnified and it's fighting on the planet's side...

    and it was

    Sharky and George
the crime busters of the sea
    Sharky and George
    they rule any mystery!

    The verse is VERY hazy..

All you scoundrels and all you villans
Sharky moves fast and is not...
    ... ... crooks and robbery
when George/Sharky get there - crime gets CLOBBERED

SHARKY AND GEORGE... the crime busters of the seeeea...

    Actually......

    Its,

    Earth!
    Fire!
    Wind!
    Water!
    Heart!

    GO PLANET!

With your powers combined I am Captain Planet!

    Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
    He's our powers magnified,
And he's fighting on the planet side

    Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
Gonna help him put us under,
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder

"You'll pay for this Captain Planet!"

    (chanting)
    We're the planeteers,
    You can be one too!
'Cause saving our planet is the thing to do,
Looting and polluting is not the way,
Hear what Captain Planet has to say:

    "THE POWER IS YOURS!!"

    AND

SOLVE any mystery, not Rule any mystery.

Batman the Animated series, back in the early 90s, before they brought ni Robin, while it still had the Danny Elfman theme music, pure class.
Especially the Sub-Zero origin episode, never saw that type of emotional depth in a saturday morning cartoon before.
I remember Batman: The Animated Series. I loved it when I was a little kidlet. Any idea if it's been released on DVD yet or not? I've watched some of "The Batman" but it doesn't appeal to me. :-/ I really want to see "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm". I could have bought it a few months ago in Dublin (forget where) but I was very low on funds that day.

I'm sorry to say that I hated Sharky and George and Captain Planet. Sorry. :(

Cartoons that were the life blood of my childhood (most memories taken from previous posters):

The Racoons! :D (Has this been mentioned yet?)
    David the Gnome
    SuperTed (in English)
    Alvin and the Chipmunks
    Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers
    Earthworm Jim
    The Tick
Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (not too hard to see that on TV)
The first series of Sonic the Hedgehog when it was funny and not gritty.
    Speed Racer (Chim Chim!)
The Addams Family - 1990's series
The X-Men series of the mid 90's
    Mighty Mouse
    Doug :)
Garfield And Friends - Just the Garfield cartoons, not Orsean's Farm
    Sandokan
    Animaniacs
    Tiny Toons
    The Smurfs
    Yogi Bear
