Since some ppl here use Eldar, and Kharn is painting one, i was wondering how do you like to equip it? How many do you like to take, do you use them for transport, or do you prefer a combination of fire prisms and wave serpents to seperate the firepower and transport roles?

I'm using one to transport 6 Banshee's into the thick of things.

The other (I've got 2) - not entirely sure how I'm gonna use it. I originally planned making a Wave Serpent out of it - might still do that and lash a Storm Squad or for fun, some Dark Reapers!!! curlydav.gif

Imagine that, a Squad of Dark Reapers and maybe a Warlock with the shield power (name eludes me ATM) and manage to get behind your lines - you're flucked smile.gif

I use one to transport 6 banshees also, mmmm power weapons...

I was attracted to a wave serpent/fire prism combo, it would allow 10 banshees to be transported, but i use an altioc ranger force, so i really needed a more versatile option, rangers and pathfinders really suffer against tyranids and orks. You need some anti-tank and some anti-personel firepower. I give my falcon a starcannon, 3 shots at st6 with no armour save allowed, and a shuriken cannon, this is an excellent combination against hard infantry units. While the pulse laser at str8 is good against tanks.

I was tempted to use two, but the points cost, and i want to take some distort cannons, the fear they can cause is incredible, and a wrathlord, so i have no hvy choices left.

A tip, think about using 10 striking scorpions, with an exarch with the stealth ability, and the unit with haywire grenades. It can really mess up your opponents plans when you deploy them as infiltrators near some nice point heavy tank like a land raider.

    Nice!
I keep forgetting that Eldar can take Haywire grenades as standard!

Even giving them to scouts should do some damage to a bike squadron (take it Raven Wing).

Also wraithguard are excellent against tanks, but their cost, pointswise and money wise, has prevented me from fully investigating this.

My fave unit though is probably the wrathlord, 3 wounds at toughness 8, lol, the damage it can take is truly impressive, and even when wounded it retains all its weapons, so you don't end up with a dreadnought with no working arms scenario.

Also D-cannons can be loads of fun, 3 in a barrage, a bit of luck, and placing all the templates on top of the opposing command squad, the look on your opponent's face is really funny biggrin.gif esp with chaos players!

the falcon is the best choice and if you put it down as an upgrade 4 a squad you can take another heavy support choice but if you need a good transport take the wave serpant and then u can take maby a wlord or a fire prism

yeah forgeworld charge way to much for the models sometimes its easier to convert and its less exspensive and theres not enough variety for other armies in the book so i just use the vdr to make my own

In fairness .. the Eldar superheavies are monsters though!! True ... its a hefty price all the same!

Lemming - I dled the price list of those Forgeworld models - the Super Heavy tanks (Scorpions) are STG£100 each! NightSpinner is STG£20 + then you need a Falcon. I shudder to imagine what that Vampire costs - the models are beautiful though. Might Buy a NightWing for the craic - looks lurvely, but cash is always such a killer in this hobby frown.gif
