Hi I have an interview for a Legal Secretary position tomorrow. I am from the Midlands and the interview is for a job in Maynooth.

I haven't a clue of the going rate of pay in Maynooth but I'm sure it's much higher than down here. I want to be prepared for the interivew and have a figure in my head - could anyone give me an average hourly rate?

Have a look at the salary survey on recruitireland.com. It covers Dublin, Cork, Limerick etc. but it should give you an idea.

    See http://www.recruitireland.com/careercentre/info/salarysurvey_legal.asp.

    From: http://content.salary.monster.ie/

Assuming fully qualified for the position.

Avg Hourly Rate: 12-15 euro per hour

    Avg Yearly Wage:

    0-2 years experience: 24-28K a year
    3-5 years experience: 28-34K a year
    5+ years experience: 34-40K a year

Substansially more than the recruitireland figures. I'd say, if you've no experience in this field (likely since you don't know the avg wage and such) then take anything over 18-20K a year. Experience is essential in this field. You need to get your foot in the door so to speak. But that's just my opinion ;)

Thanks for all the replies - I have 3 years experience I just haven't a clue of the rates in the Maynooth area - I wasn't sure if the pay would be as high as Dublin but was guessing it would have to be more than the Midlands!
