    o2 Finally have new phones...

The 6230i is now available @€;149 for a bonus upgrade or €49 for first time connection (on the 20+ package), available in the o2 shop...

With the 6 months free line rental, it works out pretty good

CPW are 200 for the upgrade... thought they were always meant to be cheaper?

Not sure what other new handsets are available (nothing as yet online) but its about time that o2 started selling some 2005 handsets instead of their usual crap!

Anyone know if its possible to take the 20+ package for the duration of the 6 months free, and then downgrade to the 5+ package once the free line rental promotion is finished?

Is that 6230i for €149 on Speakeasy Upgrade? if so, good deal!

Though does anyone know if it has support for Symbian Apps / Games?

    149 on bill pay upgrade

i think o2 are just out there in the markey with closed eyes
    theydont see the market
really dont know who gave jobs to the market control people

they seems to me have created a mess of o2

    the drawbacks i see

O2 holds a very dull image of the company
Not enough options as in tariff
not reactive to different companies like voda and meteor
    phones offered are crap
Not at all agressive in pricing
the pricing of the phones sold by o2 are unrealistic

in ireland the phone companies are making millions
in uk consumer is better of coz of competition

I've been told you can. Thats what I've done. 6 months free on the highest tariff and then I'll drop down. Being on the higest tariff means also means you get a phone a lot cheaper. I was happy on Meteor but their range of phones is very poor. Even worse than O2. Theres seems to a lot of people taking up the O2 offer. Vodafone have a great range, but usually very expensive, unless you buy a 3G which they are trying to shift. But you'll pay for it in expensive call charges.

just a question i want to ask.

Do you have to be eligible for an upgrade to avail of these offers, because im a buisness customer with them and my nokia 6230 has started a problem with the ear speaker, so i was going to get a new one or the i version.

I wouldnt mind paying dearer because i might not be eligible, does anyone have info on this before i try o2 tomorrow

I just got a 6230i upgrade in CPW in Grafton St. today, it cost me € 99.
With 6 months Choices 20+ line rental worth € 45 per month, it's a bargain!
And yes you can change down to a lower tariff Choices 5+ after 6 months - I phoned O2 customer services and asked them as it didn't occur to me to choose the highest tariff to save the most money... !

O2 and CPW are doing deals like this at the moment because they know that 3G are going to be here any day with competitive deals. In the UK some dealers give 12 months amazingly cheap line rental and calls on O2 with the latest handsets.

I was going to hold out and wait for 3G but I saw the CPW O2 deal and thought well if after 6 months 3G's deal gives me a better deal (calls to UK and EU are most important to me) then I'll buy out the 6 months left on the contract and change.

If you sign up on meteor billpay talk 400 plan (€60 per month) the 6230i is only €79 any lower tarriff with meteor makes the phone €129, i know what id pick

The o2 reception is crap where I live (radio shadow), Meteor and Voda are better - but Voda's too expensive and Meteor has inflexible roaming and upgrades (prepay).

I'm looking forward to the k750i, hope it comes to 02 prepay.
