Original CDs for Audigy 2 ZS

for some reason after a windows XP update i've lost all sound on my pc. games won't work - winamp won't play MP3s. The sound card is not being recognised by the OS. I need to reinstall the original CDs but can't find them anywhere.

I've looked through the creative website but can't find original installations - only product patches.

has anyone here got the same card ? If so I'd appreciate a loan of or copy of your installation cd.

I had the same trouble with an Audigy 2 recently. Don't have the driver disk and the drivers on creative's website is only an update that needs the original driver installed. Bit useless but anyway, I found this beta driver that does the trick. It's also on the creative website, this linky might work, if it doesn't then just do a driver search and select
Soundblaster --> Audigy 2 --> Audigy 2 and the 2nd result is the beta driver titled "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series Beta driver with OpenAL support (18.84 MB)"

Hope this works for you as it worked perfectly for me.

It's a bit crap that you can't download the soundcard drivers, it's got to be a common occurance for people to break/loose the install disk.

email the guys at support in creative labs and they'll send you out the disc

The original cds are there as an item to buy in the online shop for about €10. It's hugely annoying to have to do that but as a bonus, when I did it I got the creative versions of Fruityloops and Cubasis VST thrown in so it wasn't all bad.
