Get a disk partitioner program and merge your C and D partitions if you can. You will want to back up those files on D, and may need to check if Windows is keeping your user profile there (is the folder "Documents and Settings" in the D drive?

Back up EVERYTHING. Playing with partitions is playing with fire.

You may want to check the Half Life forum too....I'm sure there's a way to install on your D drive.

the c drive has only 1.5gb left out of 13.9gb while the d drive is almost empty with over 30gb left, thats why this is so annoying

You have to give it a path, rather than just D:\

    Give it something like D:\HL2

It should create its own folder directory once storage info has been given.

I was definitely able to install it on something other than C, I can't remember exactly what way I went about it but I think it's something to do with the way Steam gets installed. Try uninstalling HL2 and Steam, create a folder on D: for it, D:\Steam or D:\games\Steam or something like that then install Steam and HL2 to there.

    Answer:
I'm going to assume you have windows xp as you have a new sony.

Just move all you have on the d drive to a folder on c
i.e c:/D_backup (assuming you have less then 1.3 gb on the d)
If you have more burn it onto a cd or dvd.
When you have a copy of the d drive

    control panel > Administrative tools>Computer manager>Disk Manager
    Delete the D partition
    Resize the C partition(make it 15Gb bigger)
Create a new D partition - should be 15gb left over for this

    Reboot
Copy c:/D_backup to your new d partition

Wallah you have 15Gb extra on your c drive......
