Alloy wheel repair?

Can anybody recommend somewhere to repair alloy wheels?

Specifically, to re-lacquer some wheels. Repeated power washing has taken it's toll and the lacquer is coming off two of my wheels. Also any idea of cost would be helpful. I'm selling the car so I might just feather off the edges and pick something up in Halfords or somewhere to do a quick cosmetic job unless it can be done right for reasonable money.

There's another place called Auwell on Blackhorse Avenue but you'll need to get the tyre taken off before you bring it in to them

I've a number for Aluweld I think 01 - 2827001, but you'll need to have the tyres off first. Got a set done with Dave Mc Cann last Sept very good job, cost €90 Plus VAT @ 21% each, well worth it though. Boy will it make you watch the kerbs!!

There's a guy in Dundalk, John O'Hare I think, and he does a full wheel refurbishment for €80 or knocks the dents out of the rims for €40 a wheel. You dont have to take the tyres off they'll look after that for you. Lost his number I'm afraid but I can give you directions if you need.

You can do this yourself and save money.
bring the wheels and have them particulate blasted, I used a guy in tallaght years ago, bring them home spray them in a toned down silver, I used Mercedes platinum spray can.
Use abt 8 coats of laquer or clearcoat.
    Easier solution.
Rub down visible surfaces with fine grade wet n dry paper.
Mask of tyre, spray with desired colour.
Laquer abt 8 times leaving good time between coats.
I will admit this takes time, and usually the centre decals need to be replaced too.
If you have access to a gas torch it's good to lightly heat rims before painting to chase of moisture, and I mean lightly.
I have done this with good results, but it takes time and is a dirty job.

Just came across this thread, and thought I share some decent guys, and perhaps someone will find it useful
Don't dig up 7 year old threads please
They have quite good equipment to fix buckled, cracked, twisted etc wheels

    Regards,
    Alex
