Us Id?

Not quite sure where this belongs, move as appropriate.


I'm heading off to college in Chicago in August for the year. This will be my first time in the States and I'm looking for info and experiences about id requirements over there.

I don't want to carry any official Irish id, passport or driving license. What else would be suitable for entry into pubs and clubs and buying alcohol?

Found Fluxcard with Google although it looks like those cards might be poo.

Any suggestions?

The only thing I can tell you that will be of any use is that your ID will not need to be very high quality. Thee years ago I was doing a J1 in Boston, and I got a frend of a fried to make me a drivers licence. I was 20 at the time. I left the thing out in the sun, and this had a very detrimental effect; effectively making it look and feel like a piece of paper, apart from the laminated part. I still never had a problem with it, I got still get booze everywhere with the useless thing.

Other people have recanted similair stories to me, so don't fret over the quality.
