I'm just curious to know are there any girls out there who like zombie movies or more importantly do when womens/girls interests (as regards visual entertainment) lie in the Corination street/Emerdale farm bs?

Apologise in advance if this thread is way out of bounds.

Honestly, I find it hard to tell the difference between the two sometimes.

Sorry, are you actually testing the water to find someone who likes zombie movies? This is cruel, but I'm trying not to imagine the personal ad in the paper...

Corie represents a lifestyle or a point of view and there seems to me to be alot of females who would watch hours of soaps and mindless drivel even though they are quite intelligent. Zombies on hte other hand and interest in them represent something different.

Maybe I should have explained that before sorry.

Well I think with soaps, a lot of people just watch it so they can switch off the brain for half an hour. Like who honestly watches Fair City and takes the acting serious?!!

Seen a few Zombie movies. 1 awful one with Alice Cooper, can't remember the name of it. If I was to watch one now it would be more for the make-up/SFX in it than the storyline to be honest. Same goes with horror films and Sci-fi.

Seen that new Lucozade ad? I think it's cool.

Apparently (typing real slow bcoz I am pissed...) the scientists say that women like soaps because their brains are wired to deal with social knowledge of individuals in groups (from ancient ages), and that is one reason why women like gossip and soaps so much!

aren't you more likely to die a violent death in a soap than in a war? :)

Of course there are girls who think zombies and zombie movies are cool. They're ZOMBIES, for crying out loud, what's not to like?

    send more paramedics.

    Zombie films are great.
Roll on land of the dead.
The Undead Oz lims was the best one I have seen in a while, hopefully land of the dead will top it.

I remember going to see Dawn Of The Dead with some friends. Most of them were female.

I'm sure their howls of glee nearly got us thrown out. :)

Zombie movies are grand, but i'm more of a gore girl meself. I'm a huge Romero fan though, haven't yet seen land of the dead mostly because I knew it would let me down.

Love all Peter Jackson gore/ Evil Dead movies etc., although there are plenty of movies in the genre you can only watch to take the severe piss out of their crappiness.

Incidentally, i would rather sneeze my entrails out of nose than watch a 'chick flick'.

Zombies are one of the three essential ingredients for an excellent (or at least sufficiently amusing/gory) film. The other two of course being pirates and ninjas. But come on. Zombies. You gotta love them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31,967 ✭✭✭✭Sarky

System Shock 2 was great not because of plot, or pace, or atmosphere. It was great because it included zombies ninjas, and robots. The ninjas were actually ninja robots, so it was extra cool.

Oh, and psychic monkeys of DOOM.
