E4 on NTL Cable

Whats the story with E4 on NTL cable?
For the last two days have been presented with a black screen with no volume, where E4 normally is. Given that Big brother appears to be its raison d'etre at the moment, it doesn't bother me too much- but curious as to what the problem is..... Anyone know? All other channels are exactly as normal.

    Digital or analogue?
E4 is on two seperate frequencies on ntl analogue in Dublin, both are ok here now.

    Analogue, and in Lucan village.
It was back there for a few minutes about 10 mins ago, but is gone again.....

Also- the signal strength on most of the analogue channels has dropped about 4Dbi in the last few weeks- enough to cause minor snow on some of the weaker channels. What is odd, is that the cable broadband seems to be fine (touch wood)....... What are NTL up to?

Back again, but with a terrible signal- there is quite a lot of snow, but its watchable.....

Sky mix has been atrocious to the point of being unwatchable over th elast few days. ANY movement onscreen results in pixelation and blockyness everywhere. It's as if they dropped the band width as low as th esystem would let them, then cracked the system and lowered it some more.

I have digital in living room and sitting room (2 boxes from NTL). I get the same symptoms described by smMcCarrick on ALL digital channels upstairs and 1003 smartcard error most days. Never worked properly. The signal checker rang me about 2 days after installation (at which point everything was fine) - "Why aren't you in your house, I'm from NTL let me in to test the signal". "Did you ring me first and tell me you were coming - NO - I'm at work", "Oh so theres nobody there to let me in"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Each time I ring their faults division I get to hold on this phone for 30 mins. I finally rang the customer care today and explained to the girl there - all she could say was that they arehaving major outages today. But my problem has been happening for weeks.

According to her, my cooling off period is over (NTL give 7 days) .. but legally this doesn't stand as under Irish law its 21 days.

How do you know? Do you have an analysis meter? dBi and dB are quite different forms of measurement. ;)

I have a little device that measures signal strengths- its a modified 2.4Ghz meter that scans on UHF frequencies.
Isn't dBi the gain measure and dB the measure of frequency? I'm a bit rusty..... :o
