Laser Burning/scratching

Not sure if this has been answered elsewhere; I've looked and see no sign...

Noticed recently that my GTA San Andreas isn't always loading properly - occasionally i get the 'error reading the Disc' message.

I've taken it out and sure enough, there's those wee concentric circles towards the centre of the disc which i suspected (and indeed the nice chap in Game confirmed) were laser scratches.

Now, leaving aside the problem I may have getting the manufacturer to get me a replacement disc, where is the best place to bring my PS2 to get it dealt with to that this kind of thing doesn't continue happening. I've only noticed the problem with one game - this one, but don't fancy having it screw up all my others.

I have attempted to clean the laser with one of those cleaner things that you put in and it may well be doing the trick, but I'd rather fix it right then do a half assed job.

Thoughts, suggestions etc, most welcome!
