Don't be so naive. Initial reports only blamed power surges because they didn't know how bad the situation was and didn't want to cause panic. It has many characteristics of a terrorist attack.

Finally, someone on this topic who isn't a complete moron! How in God's name COULD a power surge cause all these attrocities?! It was well-planned too, by the looks of it, as it sends a message to the G8 leaders as well as the fact that most of GB's finst are in Gleneagles protecting said leaders. It looks like a terrorist act, the question is who?

i'd say Al Q. IRA don't have a "real reason" at the moment to go back to the bomb. the idea as some people have said of it being anarchists is dumb. they wouldn't have the resources probably to do this. Al Q could have predicted london getting the olympics or the fact the iraq is not on the G8 agenda as a reason to remind us of their existence.

There were two ways to go about it. Say

"it was a power surge, and could people please leave the station"
    or
"its a bomb! we're getting bombed! run for you lives!"

Now, which one would cause less panic, less of a stampede?
