    M Skelton 4/6 v D Williams

Surely Skelton can take Williams apart. Williams beat a haggered Tyson but Klitschko showed us that Williams is over-rated. Only last month Williams struggled against a bum on the Hatton undercard.

    B Hopkins 1/2 v J Taylor

Hopkins is getting old but he's got tons of class. Must be too good for the young contender.

Looks like a decent double, anyone disagree?

I think Williams will take a decision over Skelton, maybe even the slight chance of a late stoppage. Although Skelton has shown he can do 12 round, he hasn't been tested for 12 really competative rounds. I don't think he has the stamina for it to be honest. Williams showed a lot of heart against Klitschko, picking himself up 3 or 4 times. Danny's power isn't too shabby either, I doubt anyone has hit Skelton the way Williams will. I could be wrong and we may see Skelton rush Williams at the start, looking for the KO...but I don't think so. It'll be interesting to see ITV's coverage of the fight, their commentary etc.

    Willams UD

As for Hopkins vs Taylor, that'll be interesting. Taylor will go in there full of confidence with youth and an unbeaton record on his side. I don't think were going to see Hopkins grow old just yet though.

    Hopkins by late stoppage

If we had a boxing forum this thread could have been made into a sticky and used to say what fights are being televised each week...

I can see this one going all the way....and dont be surprised if Williams takes it on points,I am not saying its going to happen but dont be surprised if it does.Williams is basically fighting for his career.....this should be a big factor in him steeping up to the mark

Skelton to win a 9th round TKO and earn himself a fight for one of the four belts . Williams will retire should he lose im sure of it .

Hopkins to have too much class for Tayler and win on UD . Wish I had ITV :( .

Carl Froch is also fighting this weekend. He has been labelled as one of the most exciting prospects in boxing. Has anyone else seen him box? I saw him fight against Damon Hague he has a really unorthodox style.

Just so everyone knows, Brian Magee's fight versus Vitali Tsypko has been added to Sky's summer coverage. It's being televised on a Sunday. This fight is for the vacant EBU supermiddle weight belt and also an IBF title eliminator. This one should be interesting. Tsypko is unbeaten with 15 wins and 1 N/C. The no contest was against Jeff Lacy of all people...

Have seen most of Froch's early fights and he does look a good fighter, will be interesting to see how he develops once he steps up a level.

Williams v Skelton, not sure about this one! could be a messy scrap, hope it does not go the distance as it will probably be a crappy fight if it does

Good I had wanted to see that fight . Lacy is githing Robin Reid in August and the winner of that should fight Joe Calzaghe and seeing as Lacy has the IBF belt currently Tsypko or Magee could fight the winner of the second of those fights . But of course all that is in an ideal world and Calzaghe will probably not fight the winner of the fight .

Just so everyone is sure, the Witter and Froch fights are on ITV2 . I was a bit surprised they didn't show it on ITV1 but I guess ITV2 is a non subscription channel as well. Anyone with Sky, NTL or freeview can pick it up for free. Hopefully they'll show some of the fights on ITV1 as well.

Surely you need UK SKY to pick up ITV 2 ?

Hm, did your digibox and viewing card come from the republic?

Great fight on Sky tonight, Jones vs Moore. Just in case anyone has missed it and wants to catch the replay I won't give anything away. Definitely worthy of your time...

Which is basically what used to be called Granada pluss , all it shows is programmes 20 and 30 years old .

I missed the Jones V Moore fight but will be watching the replay at 1:00 , on SKY Sports 3 I think .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,001 ✭✭✭Big Ears

The fight was a cracker alright , 5 knockdowns , Jones bleeding from both his eyes , his nose(it was broken) and his mouth . Moore with a slash cut across his nose . But fighters gave it their all and its a shame the fight couldn't have lasted longer . Im not saying who the winner is as some people may have still not watched it even though its been shown 3 times by now but I am well aware I have ruined some of it :p .

Neither Witter or Froch's fights were very exciting. ITV's coverage was pretty decent. They kept the old music! :D

apparently Witter was very unimpressive , especially in the latter stages .

Yeah, it really did come down to the last round. Witter never had him in any real trouble. One judge had it in Witter's favour by 6 rounds!! Insane.

Oh and Chucky, you're right, Sky are showing Hopkins' fight (and some of the undercard) at 1am and they'll be showing Brian Magee's fight before it.
