    Looking for a decent wireless access point based on price / quality / ease of use etc, so hoping to hear from someone who already has one / hands on experience of setting up, configuring and using one.

    Will never have ADSL at these premises so am just thinking of buying the WAP, rather than buying a modem router I'll likely never fully use.

    Is just for learning more about / getting more experience with basic home networking between 2 or more windows XP SP2 (both home and pro) machines. And possibly a win98se machine just for kicks :)

    Thanks in advance for any advice on brand / speed / vendor and whatnot :)

    You might have more luck posting in the Wireless Forum

    Thanks but I had figured the wireless forum was for those who were being supplied broadband wirelessly, rather than those using wireless routers etc.

    Actually, could a mod or admin move this to the networking forum? Wherever that is, sorry I missed it before posting.

    The wireless forum is also for LANs, as per their sticky What's this board about?
    So that would really encompass technologies that cover:

    * Wireless Internet (e.g. WAP, I-Mode, HDML)
    * WAN's (e.g. Bluetooth, 802.11, IR)
    * Network Standards/Protocols (e.g. GSM, GPRS, SMPP)
    * Messaging/Push (e.g. SMS, Ringtones, MMS)
    * Handheld OS's (PalmOS, EPOC, PocketPC)
    * Other stuff related to wireless & handheld devices (e.g. SyncStations, LBS)

    It was an honest mistake, tbh just start a new thread in the wireless forum.
