    After much speculation it has been revealed today that Carol Vorderman will attend the funeral of the recently deceased Countdown presenter Richard Whitely. A spokesperson for Vorderman said 'She's just going to make up the numbers'. :-)

    Yes, he'd laugh at anything. but it didn't make me laugh. Funnily enough I only like jokes that do.

    So here's to Richard Whiteley and his long time stewardship of that quirky ship of delights: Countdown.

    I suggest we gather pics of him, Carol Voderman and countdown in general. If we get enough I may do a 9/11 style collage of them and create something of a shrine to the late great Mr Whiteley.

    You can have footage of the clock counting down at high speed, then reverse it with a humourous sound effect!

    about 3 or 4 hours after it was announced that he passed away i got a message saying..

    did you hear richard whiteley died? they planned the funeral already. food, guests invited and the music will be "the final countdown"....
