well it would need to make it look savage because the camera cost more than the guitar. :p

i was disappointed with the finish the first time i saw it i taught it would be lighter but now i've grown to like it.

Yes! and Feylyas Danelectro EQ too! lol. I love used gear... The green/grey pedal beside the PH-3 is a Line 6 Echo Park.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Yeah my pedal board is great. Its 3/4 inch plywood. With a detatchable lid. Didnt take me long to make but its really handy for hauling around effects. Only cost me about €20 to make. The latches were expensive enough.

Go for the Echo Park, or save up for the DL4. Try them both in Musician Inc.

I got it in musician inc. €200 with the fender pedal tuner last christmas i think. Whats up with the Gmajor? Hard to tweak?

Trade you an Echo Park for it ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

not too bad... yeah the menu system on it is exaxtly that a menu its not as simple as just adjusting a knob or what not... the delays are awesome on it but the whammy and chorus phaser and flnger are not as good as the boss compact pedals i had before...might keep it just for delay and get an echo park ttoo...its never endin

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Yeah, cant beat the ol' boss pedals for tweakability

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

I feel your pain... Guitar gear is ALL i spend money on... its an addiction

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

yeah even the gt-6 had a good degree of control over the effects but its just not as practical as i'd like and i'm losin interest so don't really wanna put the time in to tweak it up...i'd say the ph-3 and the echo park sound class together

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Yep definately. I miss the Small Stone though. I shouldve kept it for the sake of 50 squids

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

if i was gettin a phaser which would u recommend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

PH-3 for versatility... But the Small Stone is so thick and swooshy... its a bit of a one-trick pony but it does that trick very well... Never liked the MXR one very much... too subtle for me. Try em all out, I hear the digitech hyperphase is very nice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

i had a hyperphase and it was nicked believe it or not..well i left it in a studio and it wasn't handed in put it that way...i like the ph-3 cos i would use it for both funky sounds and mental effects and it has a stepper and tap tempo too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

The ph-3 tap tempo is crap. The Line 6 tap tempo design is way better for the echopark. You just tap lightly instead of press and holding

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

that sucks about the hyperphase man

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

feck it i wouldn't have got the ph-3 only for that so i don't really mind...u swappin the whammy still don't want it just seen a big MIGHT from u on gigsmart

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Well TBH i wouldnt wanna sell it because the power in jack is a bit fecked. Ill keep it for the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Guitars without strap locks use Planet Waves Locking Straps

    Effects

    Amplification
    Fender FM212R, 2x12", 100W, 2 Channel

    Neutrik Cables
    Dunlop Black Jazz III picks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Some nice stuff there. I love that Ibanez

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Ah, most of the stuff is muck tbh. I'm not getting on well with the Ibanez. Should have some pictures of it up soon!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Cool... Well if you saved up a grand or so from sale of gear, you could turn that into a pretty nifty rig.

    Tube combo - €700
    Effects pedals - €300

    I never like multi effects...

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

I wouldn't get near a grand for all that, excluding my good guitars. Gassing after that Randall anyway. But back to the topic please. Gear pics.

Methinks a pruning of this thread deleting all the ****e that isn't a picture is in order. Fey?

Nice pruning job on the thread! The previous pics thread from ages ago got clogged up with spam so its a great idea to keep the new pictures thread just as a resource of rig pics.

It's a Steinberger USA GM 7TA with a solid graphite neck, TransTrem and active pickups and eq. More details here. I bought it from Music Yo in March of this year.

edit: And, yeah, its not the cutest looking guitar in the world but, believe me if an Army ever need to issue a military-spec electric guitar then this is it. Sounds great, plays great, built like the proverbial brick outbuilding ;)

That's some fairly secksie gear Johnny. The Steinberger is just so 80's it's beautiful.

Hand Made from Five Pieces of Canadian Maple
Made this for the Leaving Cert final Woodworking Exam everyone else was making Bridges and Castles and S**t so I thought I could make something I could use.

Looks great. How is it to play?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 144 ✭✭DiamondJQuimby

Sounds brilliant Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the Bridge position with a Jazz at the neck,
I was after a ZZ Top sort of Sound and it certainly delivers. The Sustain goes for ever with all of the Hardwood on it.

I'll pop up link when I can so you can hear it.
