The BSOP should be kicking off next month and it will primarily be a Home Game event. With this in mind I will need people to volunteer their homes as venues - at most once a month but not every month if we get enough venues.

If you are interested then leave a messgae

Well basically a friend of mine and I have been trying desperately to get poker off its knees in Limerick. The casino let us down in a big way by somehow managing to go bust when some guy cleaned up at roulette. wtf? and they're closing for a few weeks, not answering the phone etc. etc. They can facilitate a 60 player tournament and we wanted to hold one there this month but it isn't going to happen any time soon as far as I can see.

We thought about holding a cash game at his mates apartment but everyone in this ****ing town is scared of cash games. Having said that I know there are high rollers out there, but they are hard to find in Limerick. Matt suggested holding a 3 table tourney at his freinds apartment, but its impossible for me to get players in Limerick to agree to play a tournament in someones flat. The guy who owns the apartment works at the casino and his gf is a waitress there. Matt is a professional croupier with a ****load of experience in running tournaments. It would be a very very well run game. If Boards people are interested in a trip down for this I'm certain they will all be up for it. I'm also desperate for some proper poker to be played in Limerick.

    N.

I know the request was for home venues but i'm almost sure that i could get the Mayfair to host at least one if not more. that way we get dealers, tables and a good location for everyone to get to.

    Any reactions?

Depends how much the Mayfair would charge for dealer/table/time. The BSOP has always been rake free when played at peoples houses and a small charge when we took a table at the fitz.

would it happen if i got the venue as i dont want to pitch it to them if it is going to be a home event series (i wouldn't like to throw a good offer back at them)

so just let me know and i will set it up?

The BSOP is primarily a home event, but there will be some rounds in the card clubs. It won't be confined to one venue - i.e. the Mayfair but if they were offering the venue on an ad hoc basis then it would work.

Whay not pitch it to them and then let me know via PM
