I am trying to find out a little bit more information about the Fender Strat I have.

I Bought it in 1994 or 1995 I can't remember exactly. New from Musicmaker.

It is a Fender FAT Stratocaster I think the FAT denotes Humbucker in the bridge position. It was made in Japan and has a foto flame finish kind of crimson red.
with a White Pick Guard and White Pickups. I have not seen one on sale since.
I have no photo of it I will get one up here when I can.

Has anyone any information on this I have tried Google the usual places .
Just keep getting links to guitars made in the states.

The reason being I want to find out what it is made from what type of pickups are in it etc and what it is worth if I eventually want to sell it.

    Any help Appreciated.

    Cheers

Have you got the serial number? That'll help.

Does it say "Crafted in Japan" or "Made in Japan"?

The pickups in it are most likely standard Fender Japan pickups. Fender rarely use after market pickups in their guitars, outside the American series.

I am pretty sure it says made in Japan.
And I think it is a Squier Model in very small writing on the Circle area at the headstock.

I will check the Serial Number on it when I am at home later on.

Ah, these are the original Squiers. They still have the Fender logo though with the Squire logo real small. They are meant to be very nice Japanese Guitars... And worth a fair bit... €500 or so.

I would recommend posting your question here , these guys know their strat history and should be able to help.

Thanks for that Doc, Will post a message up there.

I hope it is worth more than 500 as I paid 675 Punts for it over 10 Years ago.
Even though it was a Squier it was the only one they had ever gotten in, and it was reduced from 900 in one of their everything you can grab on a saturday sales.

Although Guitar prices have come down since then.

    Cheers

No idea what it's worth but that's one of the guitars I've been gassing over for years

    Hmm... €600ish

So do you think I overpaid for the guitar then??

It is a great guitar to play, I normally didn't like strats at the time but the humbucker at the back really gives it an edge.
I don't use the floyd rose at all but I use the locking system at the nut. The guitar never goes out of tune.

By the way. Do you know the two bolts that hold on the Nut (from the back of the neck) in a Floyd Rose Configuration. One of them is missing and I was wondering where I could get a replacement. I stupidly bought a New Nut thinking the bolts would be supplied with it and they aren't (No Idea why they sell a nut that you can't attach to a fretboard) I have tried the usual suspects in town. Music Maker, Musician , Perfect Pitch, Waltons etc..

Completely forgot about them I even have one of their catalogues lying around somewhere. Thanks.

The Site is dangerous though. Just bought.

    3965 1 Tele Curly Maple/Alder F-hole Body
5716 1 Replacement Neck for Strat - Maple fingerboard
1339 1 Neck Mounting Screws for Floyd Rose Locking Nut - Black

And I only went there to buy a screw..

I'm only surprised you didn't buy a spare screw ;)

I did think about that when I was on the site but then I got distracted by all of the gear what are the chances of me losing another one?

    Cheers anyway.

What are the chances? Pretty good, I'd say, if you've done it before :p

Thats a nice guitar, nice finish, i doubt it would be worth as much as you paid for it. But in a few years maybe you'll get lucky.

You could always stick it up for sale on eBay and see how much people are willing to pay for it, even post it with free shipping worldwide, that oughta get em drooling. Obviously they'll be pissed off that you eventually tell them it's not for sale.

I don't think I will ever sell it. I have too much respect for it.

Absolute dream to play. The Action is so low

Just thought I would see how much it was worth.

    Thanks for the help anyway.

The Fender thinline Tele and the Neck arrived yesterday.

I am really impressed with the finish on the Neck, Spotless.

    The Body is also excellent.

Can anyone recommend a Good Humbucker for the bridge position

as I am going to rout out the body a little more.

I am thinking of putting in a coil tap so that I can split the humbucker when needed and go with a two single coil arrangement, Although I know this would not be as good as a true two single coil arrangement.

I have a Pearly Gates in my other guitar [URL=https://us.v-cdn.net/6034073/uploads/attachments/39896/14973.jpg[/URL]

But I am not sure how this would fair out on a thinline.

I am really only familiar with Seymour Duncan's Range, I would like to use the Tiger HB the one with One Black and One white

Any thoughts any one got good experience in Pickups.

    Cheers
