Advice needed! hav interview for dream job and have been offered other job??

Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice guys. just to give you the story quickly. Its taken nearly a year and i managed to land a interview for my dream job, Ive gotten through to the next round on thursday. Today I got a message on my phone offering me part time work in a video shop. Im desperate for money at the momment and dont know what my chances are with my dream job, but if i dont get it the video shop would work out grand. I cant really say to the video shop, hey have an interview thurs for somewhere else might waiting and Il get back to you .any advice on what to do

Accept the video shop job but tell them you already have plans on Thursday..wedding to go to or whatever..so you'll take the job if they agree to Thursday off - they're likely to let you take the day as most new employers work around your existing arrangements within reason.

Then just go to the other interview and do your best!

I always find that interviews go better when there's less pressure on you to get the job, so as you'll already be in employment (and therefore there'll be less pressure) you should do great!

Thanks plastic, you're right about the pressure, i want to be focused for thursday. was thinking of telling video shop can start mon, cause I probarly wouuld hear if i got job or not at the weekend. Im hoping everything will all work out!
